Mill Hill Cheder is a dynamic, friendly and exciting Sunday morning Cheder, which has grown to around 160 children between the ages of 4-15. We are keen for children to enjoy discovering Judaism by learning about it in a fun way. 

This Deputy Head role will suit an experienced teacher/youth worker looking for a new and meaningful position. The ability to work effectively with children of the relevant ages is essential as well as the aptitude to demonstrate empathy, confidence, enthusiasm flexibility, diligence whilst maintaining a high level of personal integrity. 

The key responsibilities are:

To support the Head Teacher in the smooth running of the cheder and if necessary to deputise for him

Managing the reading helpers and ensuring each class has the reading support they require and to test the children to facilitate their graduation up through the levels of the reading scheme

To support teachers to plan and deliver lessons.

To plan and organise events such as at Chagim and to be participate at meetings involving the cheder.
