2-3 hours per week plus preparation time


An inspirational Shabbat Youth Service Leader is required to run weekly Youth Services and discussion groups, to support the religious and spiritual development of our youth.

 

The Youth Service Leader will also be expected to attend a small number of Friday Night Dinners / Shabbat Lunches with youth throughout the year (typically once every 2-3 months).

 

Main duties will include:

 

  • Preparing and running weekly Youth Services – a combination of Mussaf and Hot Topics (Hot Topics is a weekly discussion group providing thought-provoking and engaging Jewish educational content)
  • Preparing and running monthly full Shabbat morning services including Shachrit, Leining, Divrei Torah and Mussaf (supporting boys and girls to participate and lead services as much as possible)
  • Developing creative and appealing activities for the youth of the community that encourages them to participate and actively engage with Shabbat services each week
  • Creating a culture of fun that also rewards participation and attendance
  • Attend periodic Shabbat Meals with youth to further develop the cohesive nature of the Youth Community in Woodside Park
