We are thrilled to announce that the KLBD Kosher Direct Facebook group has reached 10,000 members.

To celebrate this milestone, Rabbi Elie Schoemann of KLBD, gave a Chocolate Fantasies presentation to KLBD's 10,000th Facebook member, Joshua Benjamin Hamerton. Josh is accompanied by Rabbi Peretz Goldstein of Seed Borehamwood.
Mazel tov Josh!!

Josh was raised in a family that followed the teachings of Reform Judaism. Growing up, his family attended a progressive synagogue that embraced modern interpretations of Jewish traditions.

As he entered adulthood, he began to explore Orthodox values and beliefs more deeply. He found himself drawn to the rich history and rituals of Orthodox Judaism. His journey started with reaching out to a member of the community who connected him with Rabbi Peretz at Seed. He started attending Seed and Kollel in Borehamwood and was captivated by the reverence and sense of tradition that permeated every aspect of the community. Seed has been an important part of this journey.

Josh says that 'Learning to keep Kosher is important because it is seen as a way to follow the dietary laws prescribed in the Torah, specifically in the books of Leviticus and Deuteronomy. These laws dictate which foods are permissible and which are not. Joining the KLBD Kosher Direct Facebook group I have found many answers to those hard to figure food and products and the work that everyone does at KLBD is invaluable to the Jewish community. Being their 10,000 member is a honour and privilege and I am sure it will support my journey in living an Orthodox Jewish life.'

Josh having graduated from London South Bank University with a BSc (Hons) in Engineering Product Design then went onto gain his QTS in Secondary Education (Design Technology and Engineering at UCL’s Institute of Education. Josh is now Head of Design Technology at Yavneh College in Borhamwood.
