Chigwell & Hainault Synagogue is a large and growing community of around 900 families, including many with children under 21. We are looking to employ an Associate Rabbinic Couple who will engage the youth, and young families; as well as supporting our Senior Rabbi and Rebbetzen.

We are looking for a warm, friendly, and approachable couple to engage with our diverse community. You will empower our members to become part of the community; to make Judaism more relevant to their lives and provide them with suitable educational programmes.

You will provide a range of services that inspire the young families in the community. Core tasks include:

• Attend daily and Shabbat services

•Run regular Shabbat morning youth services and Yom Tov explanatory services

• Perform pastoral duties and life cycle events such as weddings, funerals, shiva homes and bikur cholim (as required)

• Assist the Senior Rabbi and Lay Leaders and deputise at events (as required)

The ideal appointee will be passionate about Judaism and the community, and comfortable with the ethos of the United Synagogue. The expectation is that the post holder will be able to relate to children and adults alike, with self-motivation and enthusiasm.
