The United Synagogue is embarking on a once-in-a-generation project to open its historic Willesden Cemetery as a heritage site for the public, thanks to a Round 2 Heritage Grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF).

As Capital Works Manager, you will ensure planned capital works are delivered to scope, time and budget, with minimum disruption to funerary operations.

You will work closely with the project’s staff team and the US Property and Burial teams to make the site sustainable and accessible for the future. Works will include repairs and upgrades to historic buildings and landscape, access and biodiversity improvements and monuments conservation. The Lodge, Prayer Hall, Portico and former Mortuary will be refurbished and adapted into visitor welcome, interpretation and learning spaces.

The successful candidate will be an experienced project manager and team leader of medium-scale capital projects, a creative thinker who has worked with diverse community groups. You will be adept at managing multiple work streams to achieve the successful delivery of a complex project.

The United Synagogue is committed to equality and welcomes suitably experienced or qualified applicants, regardless of background.
