Reporting to the Synagogue Community Manager, your role will be to carry out general services including: ensuring site security is maintained at all times, maintenance and cleanliness of the building and grounds and all furniture and equipment. For this role it essential that you have prior Health & Safety knowledge and experience relating to cleaning and general maintenance.

The main duties will include:

Checking and securing all windows and doors, telephones and alarm systems at the end of the day’s activities.

Ensuring that the structure, maintenance, safety of the building and equipment, inside and out, is adequately maintained.

Daily replenishment of cloakroom towels, soap and toilet paper.

Sweeping all external areas and maintaining them in a clean and safe state.

Cleaning of internal areas as required.

Daily collection of refuse from around building.

Daily sweeping of all areas of the building in preparation for various activities.

Placing of tables, chairs, whiteboards etc. as and when required.

Replacing light bulbs as necessary inside and outside of building.

Minor plumbing and other repairs and occasional minor redecorating.

The successful candidate will be expected to have a well-developed sense of responsibility and be able to work well as a member of the Synagogue Team. You will also be expected to be well organised and have good customer care skills. In addition, you will need to be self-motivated and adaptable.
