Richmond Synagogue is a friendly, long established, Richmond Synagogue is a friendly and inclusive Orthodox community, established over 100 years ago. We have around 200 Shul members plus children and 50 or so outreach associates. Building on the phenomenal successes of the last six years under our outgoing Rabbinical couple, we have scope and ambition for growth in South-west London.

One of our key achievements has been the establishment of the Richmond Jewish Community Hub - www.rjch.org.uk. Set-up under four years ago, the Hub provides a range of amazing activities and support to our community, both to our members and to the wider community through broader out-reach programmes. The Hub brings Jewish education, literature, politics, Israel, arts and music, yoga, children’s activities and more, to everyone. We have a wonderfully flourishing cheder, providing Jewish education from nursery to GCSE. We were thrilled to be able to continue all our community work and programmes throughout COVID utilising all technological means available to us.

You will inspire, enthuse and motivate individuals however they connect with and contribute to the community. You will have an engaging, welcoming personality and will be good listeners; learning from and embracing the diverse nature of the community, while promoting Jewish practices and education. You will be dynamic, self-motivated, energetic, well-organised and hard-working team players. You will be enjoy welcoming guests to in your home and ready to reach out to young and old alike. As Rabbi, you will be tuneful and uplifting in shul.

Whatever a person’s background or level of observance, it is important that everyone feels welcome and comfortable at Richmond Synagogue. Reflective of Richmond’s style, the successful candidates will have a modern outlook and are likely to have a secular degree. They will develop and enhance the well-established local connections with Richmond Council, local Emergency Services and local secular and faith schools, including Mosaic Jewish Primary School in Roehampton.

The successful Rabbi will also have a Semicha which is acceptable to the Chief Rabbi.

The contemporary, attractive synagogue, and its adjoining house, are very well situated in one of the most sought-after areas of London; walking distance to Richmond Park, Kew Gardens, the River Thames, and with excellent public transport links to Central and North London.
