Borehamwood and Elstree United Synagogue (BES), the largest orthodox community in the UK, is looking for an inspirational Rabbi / Rabbinic Couple to develop the thriving BES community, particularly in the Southside of Borehamwood (known as BES@Yavneh).
Working alongside Rabbi & Rebbetzen Chapper, the Rabbi/ Rabbinic Couple will provide religious leadership, pastoral care and inspiring educational experiences to a community of over 4,000 members and 1,500 member families from a variety of religious and professional backgrounds, including many Shomer Shabbat families across two sites.
The Community Rabbi will have primary responsibility for the BES@Yavneh pulpit and leading the community in the Southside of Borehamwood, and will deliver uplifting and challenging sermons, and design and run inspiring programmes for the whole BES community.
The Community Rebbetzen will be a role model for the women and girls in the community, encouraging participation in communal life and religious practice, provide spiritual comfort and support, and develop inspirational communal initiatives.
The successful candidate(s) are engaging, passionate and visionary, care for their community, and have an outlook of Ahavat Yisrael and Torat Chesed.
