A vacancy has arisen for a full time Research Worker to look into products for listing in the IsItKosher search and The Really Jewish Food Guide.
The ideal candidate will be a quick learner who has a good academic record and good writing and computer skills.
They will have the capacity to adapt to new programs and absorb new information. They will be well organised with a good eye for detail and will work to a high standard of accuracy. It would be an advantage, although not essential, if the applicant had spent a year learning in a Seminary or Yeshiva.
The work involves contacting food manufacturers to ask them for information about the ingredients and manufacture of their products, analysing the responses received to request further or missing information, inputting the details to the food database and submitting products for Rabbinical approval. At times they will deal with product enquiries received from members of the public and KLBD licensees.
Full training will be provided in all aspects of the job.
The successful applicant will work as part of a team and will be expected to help out with other duties when required.
