Youth Director(s)/ Youth Couple - Edgware - United Synagogue
Jobs Closing Date:
Friday 11th December 2020

Part Time

Salary: £10,000 p.a. for each successful candidate

Hours:  Every Shabbat plus one evening per week (12 hours each per week).

Edgware Synagogue, with 1,900 members and 600 children, is one of the largest congregations in the UK and a flagship of the United Synagogue.  We cater to a very varied membership and your job will be to get more of our youth involved.

We are seeking to recruit two new Youth Directors / a Youth Couple in this expanded role in order to build on the work of their predecessors to enhance the informal Jewish education of the Youth and encourage a significant increase in the participation in Youth events.

Responsibilities will include organising youth activities on Shabbat and festivals, a mid-week Club, planning innovative programs and, most importantly, building relationships with the Youth of our Synagogue.

You should have proven experience in positions working with youth and demonstrate the ability to plan events from conception through to execution.  Working closely with Tribe is an essential part of the role.

You must have plenty of initiative, good organisational, administrative and communication skills as well as demonstrating a passion for Judaism and the desire to help nurture that enthusiasm in others.

The Youth Directors will work closely with a dedicated team in the Synagogue, in particular, the Community Development Manager.
