Central Synagogue is a prestigious modern-orthodox community founded in 1870, located in Central London.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and charismatic Assistant Rabbi & Rebbetzen to work alongside and support our Senior Rabbi, Chazzan and Youth Director.

The candidates should be passionate, self-motivated and well organized team players and be prepared to engage with our members across a broad range of ages and levels of observance. The successful candidates will be expected to build a close and meaningful relationship with existing members, actively promote the Central Synagogue community, make Judaism relevant to the members, as well as recruit new members. A large part of this job will be to create new events and continue with the successful “Central Events Cultural Programme”.

The Assistant Rabbi will have a Certificate of Semicha, which is acceptable to the Chief Rabbi. Previous experience in a United Synagogue style community including pastoral work, organising events and communal activities is desirable.
