The Jewish Community in Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield is Growing.

Situated only 15 minutes’ drive from North West London and identified by the United Synagogue’s Communities of Potential Board as a new Jewish centre, these positions offer an exciting opportunity to build and support the established community and develop the area infrastructure.

We are currently recruiting for two part time roles. Candidates are also invited to apply for both posts.

Welwyn Garden City Hebrew Congregation

Rabbi/Rabbinic Couple

Shabbat & Chaggim + 1 day per week

2 year fixed term contract

(with potential to renew)

Located in beautiful Welwyn Garden City, Welwyn Garden City Hebrew Congregation is an established, vibrant modern & Orthodox community with a purpose-built building and active cheder.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Rabbi/Rabbinic couple who can inspire our community and lead the religious, educational and pastoral aspects of community life.

The successful candidate/s will be passionate about developing our community, excited about reaching out to people from across the religious spectrum and have excellent interpersonal skills. The Rabbi must have the ability to daven, lein and give thought-provoking sermons as well as to address pastoral and welfare needs.

Hatfield Community Development

Rabbi/Rabbinic Couple

Shabbat & Chaggim + 3 days per week

2 year fixed term contract

(with potential to renew)

We are looking for an ambitious Rabbi/Rabbinic couple to build the Jewish community and infrastructure in Hatfield.

You will be responsible for engaging with all Jews in the area, developing networks to make this project a success. The successful candidate/s will be creative, self-starters with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to design and implement a wide range of events.

Supported by The United Synagogue Communities of Potential Board and working with the Welwyn Garden City Hebrew Congregation, you will be empowered to try new activities and ideas to develop this new centre of Jewish life.
